Ibizia Mania, Whitehaven, England
Played at Ibizia Mania in Whitehaven last night, under 18s night.
Was canny good like.
Went across wi Little Miss Naughty, hard house DJ from Middlesbra, her driver and mate Paul who runs Collaborative Northern Effort events in Newcastle.
Think we got to the place about 6:30, big Civic Hall place, 100s of kiddies outside wi there cans of Ace and white cider, ha ha.
1 big main room, sort of hardhouse & commericial trancey charty stuff and happy hardcore and a smaller room that was big for hardcore.
Miss Naughty played 2 sets in the main room, cant remeber what time like. Canny good sounding hardhouse, not bad at all.
As I left the backstage bit to go and play in the hardcore room, someone was on in the main room playing Sum 41, that crap US rock-pop band, apparently he played loadsa stuff like that, school disco vibes. I played at 8:40 - 9:15. SFX was on befor eme playing new style gabber, I think the music was like that all night in there, until I played off course, ha !
Started off with Wannafuck (I wanna fuck the Spice Girls), only 200 BPM, so not fast like, coulpe of other 200 BPMish Dutch type gabber. MC jibbering on & on & on. After about 15 minutes I played that Goat of Mendez on Praxis, the deahh metal thing, haha, confusion on the dancefloor. Incidently this has a chunk out of it after banging it against me head a couple of years ago, played about 20 minutes of mellow French stuff, Radium.Micropoint etc, then a couple of faster guitar tracks, Fuck Me Geordie & Shitter.
Quite surprised at how much the little kids went for the speedcore like, since they'd never heard it before. Made lots of noise aswell, canny kiddies.
All the little lasses crowding around the MC at the front of the stage, awww, bless. SOme little kids said I was mental, dunno why. A little lass asked me to play Shooting Star, WHAT !
Some of the kids were bigger than me and it was very hard to tell what age some of the girls were. Nowt like that when I was a youngster like.
had a bit dance about on the stage in the main room at the end to all the cheese.
